‘Pregnant Man’, pregnant again

11-18-08

Remember Thomas Beatie? A transgender man who made a headline of delivering a baby early this year is pregnant again.

Thomas Beatie, formerly known as Tracy Lagondino, went several psychological counseling for his gender concerns. After series of hearings, the authority was convinced that a person trapped in a woman’s body is in fact a man, and it decided to make his identity legal by changing from F to M in his birth certificate.

After his first delivery, he opted not to resume taking testosterone in order for him to prepare for  another pregnancy. This week, Thomas and his wife Nancy delightfully announced that he is bearing again, a ten-week old little angel.

Eventhough his family is facing discrimations, they still hold each other strongly and closely as a small unit of the society.

After Dark Farewell

11-16-08

After saying the words, we decided to let loose. It was not in our plans of going out last Friday but we did bar hopped around Legazpi City in Albay and enjoyed each other’s company. Dancing and shouting with the crowd, and trying to blur the reality with alcohol and cigars were the things we did.

Drooling over Sausage Design

11-14-08

Being visually stimulated, I craved for a certain food yesterday, and noticed that I was salivating like a dog after seeing the image design of the shirt in a mall. After ignoring that food from our table for several weeks, I realized that I did miss the smell and taste of it , the longganisa (sausage). Funny that it made me started to feel unease and made my butt off to food court. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t there. (Oh Crap!) I just bought a pork barbeque to relieve the craving a bit.

The time was almost 6 in the evening and was getting dark. I decided to go home and was hoping that our fridge has sausages…for me. As soon as I got home, I swung open the freezer. Oh geeze! I found nothing. But I’m not convinced that the food wasn’t there so I kept finding in the lowest part in the pile of frozen food. Amazingly, I found few little pieces of longganisa. Then after few minutes of sitting, my stomach was already full, and then afterwards a big burp was heard.

As of now, I am imagining the taste of it when it is fried. Its smell would be so deliciously great and the taste would be so tempting, seems like its meting down on my tongue. Just by thinking it by now made me salivate more. Oh God. Life is really beautiful.

Halloween Dance?

11-6-08

Yesterday, as I browsed TV,  I happened to bumped into MTV channel. It’s been a long time since I parked on this channel. I heard an unfamiliar beat but it was pleasant to my ears. It seems like it is a techno-dance (correct me if I’m wrong) powered by the unique voice of the female artist. At first, I thought it was a black girl who is singing on the video. She made me tap my foot on the ground.

The part of the video where the artist commanded to be quiet, a long “shhhhh” while putting her forefinger over her mouth, is totally cool. Actually, it became cooler when the music got back after a long pause then they do their dance routine - nice display of synchronization, and very much robotic.

The video has a mix of new and old stuff. It has similar characteristic with Michael Jackson’s Thriller video trying to scare someone but in Sonny J’s video, the lady was dancing like a zombie with a blindfold. I wonder if I try this while on the dance floor. Nah, I won’t do it, Halloween is already over. I don’t want to scare the kids. Maybe, I’ll do it next year or maybe not.

Notice the pants of the singer. I always like to wear torn shorter trousers when I’m at home but not that tight like what the artist is wearing on the video. It would be an “ouch” for me. But then, I think I’m going to buy new one tomorrow then.

If you don’t like to watch the video, don’t click the play button. You could have listened to the recent top notch hit in Greece.

Sonny J - Handsfree (If you Hold my Hand)

I am not sure if Sonny J (English singer-songwriter) is the one who sings on the video or he just made a collaboration with a female artist. Perhaps the latter may be the choice, i think.

Mayon Skyline, one of the tourist attractions in Albay

11-4-08

(Spiky was there last October 26, 2008)

img231/5012/dsc01431ha2.jpg

A wonderful place of Mayon Skyline, formerly known as Mayon Resthouse, would be reached if someone from Manila had a 20-minute flight to Legazpi City, a 45-minute travel to centre of Tabaco City, plus half-an-hour ride to Mayon Volcano (currently 12th position for New-7-Wonders-of-the-World poll) in the province of Albay in Philippines.

img391/3674/projectionmayonresthousss5.png

Mayon Skyline is usually a destination of tours from different places in the Philippines. It is also a place for seminars, convention, sight-seeing, relaxing and also a starting point for hikers towards the peak of the volcano. If someone wishes to stay longer, better wear a jacket because weather may easily get windy, colder or foggy.

img371/3083/dsc01411dh4.jpg   img231/8247/dsc014321rx4.jpg

Kids may love to run and play on the ground while others would enjoy the views of Mt. Malinao, Mt. Masaraga, and Tabaco Bay. Feel the nature’s breeze!

img391/142/picture15nv2.jpg

Taken on 2005, the picture has the big Cross still standing and lucky that the fog was not too thick that time, the Mayon top portion showed up.

img111/8775/dsc01440it3.jpg

The skyline was struck by Typhoon Reming in 2006 causing the Cross to crash down over the chapel. Until now, it hasn’t been moved back to its original position.

img377/6021/dsc014351xj8.jpg

As part of Mayon Skyline comes the proposed development plan of Mayon Ridge View.

1. Obstacle Sports (Play Area) – not yet finished; has Wall Climbing area

2. Gazebo – not there yet

3. Glider Slide – may be used

4. Wall Climbing – may be used; already placed on Obstacle Sports (see #1)

5. Monkey Bridge – not there yet

6. Lagoon – not there yet

7. Cottages – not there yet

8. Aisles – not there yet

9. Reception Area – not there yet

10. Green House – not there yet

11. Camp Site – not there yet

14. Kiosks – not there yet

15. Starship Café (see #10) – done; operating

16. Planetarium Building – done; operating

img76/9230/dsc01431df7.jpg

Wanna get acquainted with the stars, moon and other heavenly bodies? Mayon Planetarium (#16) shall be available during weekdays to offer shows about these and astronomy for the students and tourist who would visit the place.

img231/8160/dsc01437wx3.jpg

Experience a rush of adrenaline as you move through this Glider Slide (#3). Ask for assistance to avoid hurting yourself.

img111/8741/dsc01442db6.jpg

Purosingan muna buda pirikchuran bago magkaramangan pasakat. (Posing and picture-taking first before crawling up.) You can practice at Wall Climbing area (#1) if you wish to prepare for X-Games. Albayanos will definitely try this.

img231/9279/dsc01436df5.jpg

If someone wants to recharge after a tiring wall climb, Starship Café (#15) will be there to help regain back your strength.

img231/4544/dsc01439tp1.jpg

Where is Puno ng Pag-ibig (Tree of Love)? Barely seen on this image, the tree seedlings were planted on that area as part in developing Mayon Ridge View. Go Green!

After the trip, you can go to another hot tourist spot - Dhio Endheka for an overnight stay or perhaps a refreshing dip at  the pool. The resort located at Buang, Tabaco City is a 7-minute drive away from Mayon Skyline.

Duman sa Kampo Santo (On Cemetery)

11-1-08

Araw ng mga Patay (All Saint’s Day) is usually celebrated from November 1-2 here in Philippines.

Since I don’t have any dead loved ones here in town, I decided to walked around the cemetery. There were few things I noticed while I was roaming around. Of course, lots of people went there to visit their family members and friends who passed away. It is the way of strengtening their family bond, sort of reunion while reminiscing happy and sad memories. Their visit also happened to see familiar faces such as good ole friends, greeting with ‘hi’ and ‘hello’ and filling in the gaps for not seeing each other in ages.

Not so sad at all at least for others to celebrate All Saint’s Day, right? Yes,in fact, peryahan (sort of carnaval) is there. Kids and Adults played to entertain themselves…Sana nanggana su tinaya ni tiyo sa pula (I hope the man won his bet on red).

“Fly away skyline pigeon fly, towards the dreams you’ve left so very far behind.”  I was surprised videoke machine is there. That’s a terrific idea for putting up the stall because the visitors would definitely have their stay remarkable. Most Filipinos love to sing.

I have spotted no killjoy on the cemetery but the drizzling rain. I hope it would stop sooner so that the rest of this night would be more enjoyable for those people.
